Description (last modified by price)
The VNC applet is unusable on Firefox on the Mac.
We probably can't fix this.

#43 was to document the fact that when the framebuffer is on, the VNC applet fails to redisplay properly. Even better would be to fix that.

No, it's not just slow redraws. It's partial redraws, with only some glyphs being redrawn and with some glyphs being only partly redrawn, apparently randomly. (I say "glyph" because the example near at hand to me isn't running X, but it may really be about pixels.)
Hitting "refresh" in the applet, or moving to another tab and back, causes a correct redisplay.
I've given sipb-xen access to my test machine "erty", which exhibits this behavior.

- Summary changed from fix VNC framebuffer redisplay issues to VNC applet redisplays wrong on Mac Firefox
In discussion with Quentin, it turned out that the behavior I was seeing only applies in Firefox on the Mac -- not Safari, and not Linux Firefox. And it's distinct from the framebuffer issue.

I don't believe that was the relevant problem; the only problem with using the framebuffer is that it causes redraws to be much slower.
